27/01/2012 - Boarding Pass To Go Aboard White Star Line's R.M.S TITANIC

Viewed by over 25 million people worldwide, one of the most successful exhibitions in the world.............

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition.

Greeted by this huge shoe when we are about to enter the exhibition................

Received a boarding pass at the entrance of the exhibition!! So interesting!!

This is actual information of the passenger on board Titanic!! Look at the date!! Its freaking 1912!!

We then make our way into the dimly lilted exhibition..........

The Construction Gallery, where we step back into the famed Harland and Wolff shipyard of the early 1900s and relive the story of Titanic's conception, design and construction.

As all of us whom have watched this classic movie, should know that, the ship classifies the passengers into the First, Second and Third Class.

And so we are about to witness the luxurious accommodation of the First Class passengers............

P.S. We aren't actually allowed photography within the premises of the exhibition but I just cant help it!!! Everything was too beautiful!! The following pictures were taken illegally!! Haha!!

We then arrived and stroll through the Verandah Cafe, a one-of-a-kind alfresco dining area.

And we could hear the sounds of dining passengers and the ocean breeze in the background!!

The First Class stateroom, a full-scale re-creation!! We witness how First Class passengers enjoyed the most luxurious way to travel.........

The entire flow of the exhibition resembles just like in the movie....... I really had flashbacks of the movie all over again as we progress into the exhibition!!

Moving on, we arrived at the highlight of the exhibition!!!

The Grand Staircase!!

Picture taken online as there was a staff station there to help public take photos standing on the stairs........ Damn............ Decided to give it a miss...............

Following that, we made our way deeper into the exhibition, arriving at the Third Class quarters / hallway which housed passengers looking for a better life in America...........

There wasn't any Second Class stateroom............ I guess it was just a tad less lavish than the First Class's therefore the Third Class quarters(even the name of the room is so third class......) would seemed like a big difference in terms of size and interior design...........

Before the fatal collision, passengers would step out onto the Promenade Deck to admire the moonless night filled with thousands and hundred of stars shining ever so brightly in the pitch black sky..........

The last picture above was stolen from the internet too.......... The Gallery was just too damn dark that my flash didn't seems to help at all!! It should looked like that!!

An iceberg loomed out of the calm night on 14 April 1912, a precursor to the tragedy that would befall the Titanic.............

In the Iceberg Gallery, we got to touch a real sheet of ice and experience the freezing waters of the North Atlantic!!

The 3 pictures above were taken from the internet and only the last picture was taken by me!! Nice right!! Haha....... We touched that slab of ice and it felt like the ice from a ice skating rink........ But it was indeed very very cold.......... Couldn't place our hands on it for more than 3 seconds!!!

Following the Iceberg Gallery came the Memorial Gallery.........

In memory of the passengers on board the Titanic, this gallery provides a listing of over 2,200 names of those who were lost and saved in the tragedy.........

Among which the list of the ship's crew whom didn't survive the tragedy was the longest...........

Once again, picture taken from the internet......... Yawns.........

Almost nearing the end of the exhibition, we stepped into the Discovery Gallery which we get to find out about the discovery, recovery and conservation of artifacts from the Titanic...........

At the end of the whole exhibition, we went back to the past to Singapore 1912 which is a new addition to the exhibition, dedicated to local connections where visitors can learn how the sinking of the great Ship resonated in Singapore............

It was really an eye opener for the both of us!!! Really didn't regret going to the exhibition as we hesitated whether to go or not..........

Made me wanna download the movie and watch it all over again!!

Hoping for more spectacular exhibitions like this one coming our way here to Singapore...........

As we make our way out from the exhibition centre and onto the Helix bridge, over seeing the Singapore River and the River Ang Bao, we cant help but to become shutter happy!!

Till then........

Signing off......
